Amichevoli Cello Choir

Amichevoli is a cello choir comprised of the advanced students from the studios of Brittany Gardner and Kelly McConkie Stewart. The name Amichevoli, which means “friendly” in Italian, was chosen by the group’s members in its inaugural season (2017) and has proven to be a perfect fit. This group of cellists not only enjoys warm camaraderie with each other, but seeks to promote good feelings and collaboration within the community. Whether performing together in service at retirement centers, in collaboration with the Gifted Music School, as part of a food drive with the First United Methodist Church, or simply in a beautiful performance space such as the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, students from Amichevoli bring joy and human connection to all they do.

Students from this group have been awarded a variety of honors. Among this group you’ll find ballet dancers with Ballet West’s Nutcracker, school spelling bee winners, Salute to Youth soloists, Concerto Night soloists, Youth Guild Recital winners, Gifted Music School concerto competition winners, members of the Suzuki Youth Orchestras of the Americas, and principal cellists in a variety of youth music groups. But above all these honors shines their greatest accomplishment: developing a beautiful heart through their disciplined study of collaborative music-making.
